Online Recruiting Database
(Included of All Skyline Athletes)

Skyline has one of the most comprehensive databases around. Not only is this database set up to collect all the important information that we need to know about you and your collegiate aspirations, but can be used as your online Contact Management Software for college coaches. Included behind your personal login are your recruiting timeline, college comparison spreadsheet, articles on “Visits to Colleges”, templates for letters to college coaches, sample emails to colleges, and a comprehensive college search engine. We use the data that our athletes submit to pull up information when communicating with colleges. Our “Palm Compatible” program makes it easy for our coaches and staff to pull up our athlete’s information court-side from their palm.

Athlete's Status Page: Athletes can veiw a list of colleges that have shown interest in them. Our staff updates this information directly from their palm when talking with college coaches. Athletes here can see their current information and easily update recruiting information and colleges they are interested in.

Recruiting Infomration: At one site, veiw your recruiting timeline, download a college comparison spreadsheet, read articles on “Visits to Colleges”, open templates for letters to college coaches and sample emails to colleges, use the comprehensive college search engine to help find the college you are interested in, and use the many different links to other college sources.

Palm Version for Staff: Skyline staff can quickly look up all the Skyline athletes that are interested in a particular college. Our staff then uses their palm devices to look up athlete's information (recruiting, academic, & athletic) for college coaches court-side.

Recruiting Workshops

We understand junior’s volleyball is an investment in your child's life, and we would like to be a part of that also. Granted, there are many advantages to having your child play club volleyball, but the most satisfying return on your investment is to see your child play for the college or university of their choice. Therefore, no junior’s club program is complete without informing both players and parents about the important topic of scholarships and college recruiting.

We will host a "Recruiting Workshop" for both players and parents that will cover the do’s and don’ts of timely and effective communication with colleges and universities. We will set aside time to record some skills and introductions for their recruiting tapes. There are certain ways to design a video to get the coaches attention, and if it is done wrong, some coaches will not even look at the tape. We will also discuss different ways parents can videotape matches and how to put the videos together. We will provide examples of various ways athletes can set up their profiles to make them appealing to college coaches and will also facilitate individual and group meetings with the recruiting coordinator. This is a workshop good for all Skyline athletes no matter what sport they may pursue in college. It will be a workshop for everyone interested in getting information and put together the best ways to get college coaches to see our athletes.

Player Media Guides and Online Profile Pages

We will develop a media guide for the 16's, 17's, and 18's age groups containing information about each player. We will distribute the media guides to college coaches at tournaments we attend, but it will be the athlete's responsibility to purchase (from DSJVA) copies to supply schools they are interested in. It will include information such as awards, accomplishments, playing experience, vertical jump, a personal section, and the athlete's plans for their athletic careers. The profile page from the Media guide will be posted on our website. This will enable each player to have a link to their own profile page to send it to the college coaches of their choice via email or by letter.
