In honor of Sawyer Kate Mulkey, an annual scholarship award has been set up to be received by one or more recipients each year. The recipient(s) may be from any club in the North Texas Region. The recipient will be nominated by a coach and will be asked to provide an essay to be chosen by the Mulkey family. More details to come for the application process. Sawyer passed away on April 27th, 2022 as a result of a car accident. She loved her teammates beyond what words could describe, and was so close to her family that they all attended almost every one of her tournaments. Over the past couple of days, we have received an outpouring of love, encouragement, and support from the volleyball community all across the United States. So many have asked how they can help and it became apparent that the best way to honor her is by giving others a chance to play the sport that she loved. 💛🏐💛
